Tonno Callipo Vibo is back in the SuperLega tournament after just one season!
This is the clear response from game -3 of the Play Off final which took place this evening at the “PalaMaiata” against Bergamo, where the crowd of great occasions was present, which saw the team led by the Brazilian coach Cesar Douglas close once again the games in three sets in just eighty minutes of play. It was the exclamation point of a simply top-notch season for the club led by president Pippo Callipo, capable of celebrating its thirtieth anniversary with a fantastic treble: Coppa Italia, SuperCoppa and Promotion to Serie A1.
A round of applause goes to the sporting director Ninni De Nicolo and to the vice president Filippo Maria Callipo who worked painstakingly and meticulously over the course of last summer to achieve all three of the objectives they set at the beginning of the season; to a granite group of athletes forged in “fire and iron”, capable of jumping with extreme skill and consummate experience those moments of difficulty that have been found along the way, always keeping the bar straight and the results achieved are under the eyes of all in 37 overall seasonal games, 32 of which won and only 5 lost, all away, with 21 games won in as many matches on taraflex friend.
Another great protagonist was the helmsman of the team, the Brazilian Cesar Douglas, who arrived in Calabria after a season in A2 with Santa Croce: his most evident merit was that of having always made the pitch talk, with very high performances level by his boys who followed his dictates to the letter.
As for the individual performances of the 11th consecutive victory in this last part of the season, captain Santiago Orduna, a skilful and wise orchestra conductor, who managed the game in a masterful way, the Serbian fullback Nikola Mijailovic, top scorer of the match with 13 points, two of which from blocks and one from service, with a 50% positivity in the 20 balls attacked and the ubiquitous Austrian opposite Paul Buchegger, also in double figures, who propitiated the draw with three winning bouts in the middle phase of the third set (from 12–10 to 15–10). No athlete from Bergamo’s training went into double figures: captain Roberto Cominetti with 7 points, followed by the hammer Tim Held and the central Riccardo Copelli with six points.
Captain Santi Orduna was elected Credem Banca MVP of the Finals, and therefore raised to the sky both the personal recognition and the commemorative plate of his promotion to the SuperLega, officially starting the celebrations.
