Roma cruised to a straight set victory (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) over Isernia: a nice way to head into this weekend’s big clash against league leaders Castellana Grotte. Coach Giani was without captain Paolucci but substitute Morelli was amongst the best on court on his debut.
“We had a good game – said a satisfied Poey – It was not easy without Paolucci, but Morelli brilliantly made up for his absence. We tried to help him as much as we could and he settled in perfectly without being overwhelm at all by the fact it was his debut. Now we’ll be facing Castellana Grotte, we are in good form, apart from a few niggling injuries, so we’ll have our chances”.
