Verona Volley and Round Table 36 together for an important social and environmental initiative. In fact, on Sunday 19 February and for all the home matches of the Verona Club, an evacuated box for the collection and recycling of sneakers will be installed to reduce the accumulation of waste in landfills and make people aware of the possibility of obtaining recycling second raw material. A project fully in line with the green path that the Gialloblù company has embraced by the end of its genesis.
Daniel Giacometti, President of the Verona Section: “With Verona Volley we have found a strategic partner to involve the city and be more effective for the good of the city. Suddenly the company opened its doors and on Sunday 22 January we distributed to the fans present at the arena another 500 pandoro, donated to the Veronese company which helped the vehicle, the messages against violence against women with the slogan “Fai Muro against violence!”. Today, with the spirit of collaboration we have, we will install a collection box and rickshaw for used gym shoes in the building. This initiative, created by Esosport and supported by Round Table Italia, is the first and only project of this type to be found in Italy and in Europe. The goal of the project is to minimize the accumulation of cracks in the discs and to trigger firsthand the belief that it is possible not only to recycle, but also to obtain secondary raw material from recycling, ESO Benefit Society, through the GOGREEN Association – Onlus, donates free of charge to government authorities for the realization of two projects: “Il Giardino di Betty”, a children’s playground dedicated to Elisabetta Salvioni Meletiou, and “La pista di PIETRO”, a 60m athletics track in memory of the athlete Pietro Mennea. We thank Verona Volley once again for the availability and support we gave in this initiative and in that summer”.
