Coach Stoytchev’s team did not have any trouble to brush aside the Plataneros team from Puerto Rico and are therefore in the semi finals as top team of their group. Three wins in as many games, a hundred percent record which means Trentino should benefit from a better draw in the semis although it has still to wait for the outcome of the other group to know its future opponent.

“We wanted the win to finish top of the group and we managed that saving precious energy too ahead of the semi final – said coach Stoytchev – I’m therefore extremely satisfied because this allowed me to see some players that had had little court time so far. After a tight first half of the opening set, we took charge and it became all easy from there. I’m happy with the ones that came on, we will need everyone if we want to win the tournament. Zygadlo deserves a special mention as he distributed the ball well to its spikers. In the last two games, we have sensibly improved our game but we are still far from the volleyball I have in mind for these regulations”.
