Concluded the first round with the home defeat against Tuscania, Avimecc Volley Modica returns to the gym to start training in view of the second round which will see the blue-and-white sextet engaged on December 26th at the “PalaCatania” hosted by Farmitalia.
Captain Stefano Chillemi gives a small account of the ascending phase of the championship and how the team prepares to face the second round.
“Certainly – explains the captain of Avimecc Volley Modica – we could have done more, even if this year the championship is very balanced and you can win or lose with any team, we for our part have lost a few points both at home and out, but now the second round begins and in these thirteen games we will give our best to try and show our real value. Our first round – he continues – was very fluctuating, we performed at a high level, but also some that were disastrous to say the least, but it can be okay because we are a young team. Now our goal is to restart immediately and give our best on the pitch without looking at the opponent on duty. It will be essential to give your best in training because then the field will be the mirror of what we do in the gym every day. It starts again with the Catania derby, one of the most accredited teams in our group aiming for promotion to Serie A2, they will want to “avenge” the first leg defeat at the “PalaRizza”, but it is a derby that is deeply felt by everyone and therefore we expect a warm audience. We – concludes Stefano Chillemi – will prepare the game as always starting today with the resumption of training where we will have to stay focused knowing that if we want to try to win in addition to technique, we will also have to put our hearts into it”.
