Consoli McDonald’s Centrale ready for collection which, once again, the company chooses to coincide with a short international tour. This year Brescia fly to Barcelona and, in addition to the technical sessions, they will face a triangular match over the weekend with two test matches against Superliga teams.
After the four sets played against Conad Reggio Emilia, the athletic preparation phase of the Tucans arrives at probably the most awaited week. The international trip, included in the pre-season planning in 2018 with the first tour in Ibiza, this year will bring the Tucans back to Spain, but in the heart of Catalonia.
The take-off is set for Wednesday 14 and the first joint training session with Club Voleibol Barcellona is scheduled for the evening at the Polideportivo la Salle. The matches of the triangular tournament are instead scheduled for Friday 16 at 2.30 pm against Club Voleibol Guaguas and Sunday 18 at 12 against Barcelona. The clash between the Spanish teams will take place on Saturday morning.
There are 12 biancazzurri athletes leaving: in addition to the younger ones, bound by the resumption of the school, Gavilan also remains in the city for bureaucratic issues related to his entry visa to Italy.
“For the youngsters it is always an opportunity to taste the international atmosphere and compete with high-level teams that guarantee quality – explains coach Zambonardi -. The purpose of our tour is to build the chemistry, team building through an experience that forces athletes to stay together and live, on and off the pitch, with greater intensity. It is a formula that has so far given excellent results, in terms of team spirit ”.
Also thanks to the mediation of the assistant coach Aitor Barreros Casado, this year the Consoli will face two Superliga teams: in addition to Voleibol Barcelona, the Tucans will play with Guaguas – a Canarian team that boasts Paolo Zonca (former Santa Croce and Ravenna) – who won the championship in 2021, the year in which he also won Supercopa de Espana and Copa del Rey. A challenging triangular, which will give new ideas and indications to the white and blue technical staff and which will make the group run in the field, giving new life in view of the return to Italy, set for Monday 19 September, which will close the first month of preparation for the championship.
