Still together. The young and talented setter Leonardo Ferrato, now on a permanent basis in the Italian Under National team, has married the ambitious project of the Sieco Service Impavida Ortona. The fearless management has officially closed the agreement and today, Leonardo Ferrato, is in effect still one of the fearless boys for the next season of Serie A3.
Officially announced to the press on 10 December last year, Leonardo Ferrato made his debut with the Sieco Service Impavida Ortona shirt on the eleventh first leg, away from Santa Croce. The Wolves were too strong on that occasion, winning three sets to zero. With that umpteenth defeat, no one could have imagined that that debut would instead have actually led the Fearless to raise her head and lead an extraordinary gallop towards a salvation that did not materialize only for a whisker. The arrival of Ferrato clearly shook the atmosphere and, from there to the end of the championship, all eight victories of an unfortunate season in all respects came.
196 centimeters high, Leonardo was trained in the school of Kioene Padova, with which he can also boast appearances in the Superlega. His indisputable talent soon led him to enter the national team with the under 20 players, who won the silver medal at the 2020 European Championship. However, this European silver is just a tasty appetizer for the fearless setter. The following year the call-up to compete in the Under 21 World Championships also arrives. This time it is also a medal, but the color changes; this time it’s gold.
The excellent season of Ferrato in the Abruzzo town is there for all to see. In fifteen games played with the white-blue, the setter scored 65 points, 34 of which on the wall. European Championships in Tarnow in Poland from 12 to 17 July.
