Never change a winning team. There is no more appropriate saying to confirm the tandem at the helm of the Grottese technical staff 2022/23. After the much desired promotion, it’s time to turn the page and prepare for the drafting of a new important chapter that just couldn’t do without two protagonists like them.
Massimiliano Ortenzi and Mattia Minnoni will still be respectively the first trainer and assistant coach of the upcoming Videx. A very necessary move for what can represent a transition period between a project that ended with promotion and a new one that sees Videx take part in the elite of the national volleyball scene: “We come from an extraordinary year on which wake we want to start this new path in Serie A2 – said Ortenzi -. Our intent is to reward the group behind the results just achieved, confirming as a whole the concept that has taken the field with greater continuity. We will try to combine these with quality profiles in order to perform well in a championship that promises to be really challenging. ”
A leap in category with a decidedly higher scope which highlights how the gap between A2 and A3 has progressively widened: “A very different panorama awaits us and certainly from a much higher level – said Mattia Minnoni -. The quality of the A2 series has risen sharply in the last three years but on our side we will have the advantage of enthusiasm and we will be able to play with greater freedom and less pressure than in the year just ended. It is premature to talk about goals, the priority will be to acclimate to the category as quickly as possible. Only when we learn to express ourselves at ease will we be able to assess where our potential can lead us. Fluidity in the ball change, service quality and continuity in the game are the basis of high-level volleyball, we will have to start exactly from here. “
