Hardly 20.000 inhabitants for this little town of the south east of Bari but its fame has recently doubled thanks to its volleyball team. The city can be proud to have one feminine team in the A1 and the men’s team in the A2. Michele Miccolis talks about last season and the next:
“We did not manage to obtain the results we wanted. I would have liked to reach the playoffs but the court decided otherwise and all we can say is that we tried. As for next season, first of all let us say that the financial crisis hit the sport leagues first. The crisis is truly there and we can’t hide it. In that regard I have to inform you about some changes: Sport has been, and will be, a passion to which I invested a lot and from which I received as much, but in the 15 years I neglected myself and my political commitments. I will not abbandon volleyball totally but I won’t be in charge of the A2 anymore”.
