Vibo came back from Macerata with the defeat. Only a few weeks ago it had qualified for the Italian Cup and now it slipped down to 11th place in the table. Vibo could have tied it at 2-2 and therefore grab a point out of the game but that wasn’t to be.
“We falied once more to move up the table – said Flavio Gulinelli – as we played a team that is not its best form but who played a good game yesterday with the will to get the points. Macerata had his down moments too but it managed to overcome them, which we didn’t. We did not take our chances to tie the game at 2-2. At that point, I don’t think the winner would have been that obvious”.
