Pallavolo Modena goes throught to the Challenge Cup’s quarter finals. Tonight in the Final Eight in Ankara, Turkey, Halkbank won 3-2 so they had to go to the Golden Set which Modena won 16-14.
“It was an important victory against a team like Ankara who confirmed their worth today, a good team really – said coach Andrea Giani – 2-1 ahead, maybe we should have closed the match earlier but I am happy about the victory. Not all my men were available and Tencati had some problems but he stayed on because Heller and Pagni stayed at home with the flu. We do care about the Challenge Cup and we are happy to be through: as I always say “a team is built with victories” and today’s was important. Now let’s get back to the championship and the sunday’s match against Latina”.
The match will take place on sunday at 18:00 at PalaPanini for the third round of the second leg.
