As expected for the second round of the second leg for Materdomini volley.it against Raccorderie Meccaniche Mantova.
In a match that could have been complicated due to the absences of Barbone and Viva, Castiglia’s men were good at daming the opponents, playing well for long periods led by Pascual, Joel and Libraro in attack (56 points in total for them) and the good blocking.
Despite recovering Hietanen at the last minute, the home team leaned on Argilagos and Benito mainly.
Mater lines up debuting Salvatore Schifone libero who showed great qualities and attitude.
Good performance by the 22 year old Giuseppe Muccio too with 8 points and 3 blocks, replacing captain Barbone still out with an ankle dislocation.
A satisfied Castiglia comments:” Considered our situation not being ideal, it was a good performance by the whole group. Schifone showed good attitude with his lack of fear and Muccio knows what he is doing too. Rafa proved to be the phenomenon he is and our attack did very well. We put them under pressure making little mistakes which is what we are working on. We were calm and aware of our strength”.
The team will now prepare for Santa Croce who are only one point behind them in the standings.
