Marmi Lanza Verona reaches the top of the standings, hitting their fifth consecutive victory and grabbing three full points in Isernia where they only give one set away for 25-21, taking advantage of Cagliari’s victory against Crema (1-3) and Pineto-Loreto (3-2).
In the fifth victories they grabbed all the 15 points at stake, always with the so called “emergency” formations which stimulated the group’s continuity; Verona arrived in Isernia without Janic, operated to his knee this week and Olieman recovering from a dislocation. Zanini lines up Sottile and Bellei, Botti and Mosterts middle blockers, Canzanella and Gato spikers and Tabanelli libero. On the other side Isernia plays without Kangasniemi.

COACH ZANINI’S COMMENT

“It was a difficult match, due to the enviroment and the technical situation, we knew we were facing a well organised team with a full roster: meaning they changed their game a few times using different tactics, that is also why it was a tough match.
Verona, apart from the second set when they took a break, reacted like the mature team they are with a certain personality, like we said last week.
They are also concrete even though sometimes they do not play really well and take a break here and there, in the past five matches they have taken all the points available. The tacticla game was not great and we made a few mistakes too many but our priority in Isernia was to grab three heavy points.
Gato’s brack on the bench was positive because he then went back in with an extra gear which turned his personal performance around doind great at serving, attacking and blocking, giving the team his great contribution in the third and fourth set.
The others were efficient too with Canzanella reconfirming himself as a very balanced and concrete player and this is certainly another important aspect for this team at the moment”.
