It will be the needle in the scales of this first part of the championship. Perugia (sun at 18.00 live on Sky) will host Acqua Paradiso Montichiari and it will be an interesting challenge. Perugia goes in front of their supporters after beating Taranto and Corigliano, having forgotten Trento’s defeat and getting their confidence and enthusiasm back. “After a very easy start – says Goran Vujevic – we met two teams on our level and we prove to be a respectful team”.
Damiano Pippi follows: “We do not just have 6 more points than them but we have also showed some good perfomances. Now we need to keep our eyes open though, Montichiari is a competitive team, they push their service and they have a great attack with Gavotto. Stopping him would be good already. It is important to put their reception under pressure which is their weakness”.
Montichiari comes from 3 consecutive tie breaks (Roma, Piacenza and Taranto) and has two more points than the white&red. “It is a team in good shape which took advantage of the beginning of the championship – Dall’Olio says – it is a difficult but important test. We have taken an extra step and showed a clear mind. Technically we need to imporve in attack and service and also grow mentally, we are still a team looking for its balance”.
