Playoff are about to start during this weekend. After the 26 matches of the regular season there are now 8 teams ready to fight towards the Serie A1 title. In the quarter finals Itas Diatec Trentino will have to play against the number one seed, Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo. First match will be played on Sunday in Cuneo at 6.00PM.
ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Libero Andrea Bari will do some checking and see if he will be able to be part of the team for match one of the playoff.
Trentino Volley prende plays the plaoff for the fifth consecutive time in its young history; in the previous editions Itas Diatec Trentino has always won at least one match. Best result of the team is the semifinal played last year against Sisley Treviso, lost 3 matches to one.
For André Heller this is the third playoff with Trento; the brazilian middleblocker reaches Paolo Tofoli, Giuseppe Sorcinelli, Andrea Sartoretti and Edoardo Rabezzana.
THE OPPONENTS: The tiebreak victory of las Wednesday against Piacenza and the loss of Rome at the Pala Bernhardsson has given to Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo the chance to end the regular season in the first position.
PREVIOUS MATCHES: The teams already played 19 times but no previous match in the playoff for the Serie A1 title. Cuneo has won 13 times and Trento only 6.
Trento does not win in Cuneo since the 28th of November 2004.
STARTING SIXS: Radamès Lattari should recover Bari and should start the match with: Meoni setter, Nascimento opposite, spikers Gallotta and Winiarski, middleblockers Heller and Hübner al centro, Bari libero.
Prandi should start with: setter Coscione, opposite Lasko, spikers Giba & Wijsmans, middleblockers Riad and Omrcen, Vergnaghi libero.
REFEREES: Matteo Cipolla and Nicola Castagna
THE SERIES: Quarter finals will be played at the best of the 3 matches. After match one the teams will be back in court at the PalaTrento for match 2 on Wednesday 18 April at 8.30. If necessary match 3 will be played again in Cuneo on Sunday 22 April at 6.00PM.
