Del Monte Italian Cup Quarterfinals are upcoming, Cucine Lube Civitanova – Bunge Ravenna, Diatec Trentino – Gi Group Monza, Sir Safety Conad Perugia – Kioene Padova and Azimut Modena – Calzedonia Verona are the games.
Diatec Trentino – Gi Group Monza. These two teams are with some opposite mood, in this early season. Diatec Trentino suffedere a bunch of losses in this start of the season, two losses in Civitanova at Del Monte Supercup, and a tie break loss last sunday at PalaTrento suffedere by Revivre Milano. On the other hand Gi Group Monza is coming from a convincing home win at Candy Arena versus Taiwan Excellence Latina in Del Monte Italian Cup Eight Finals, and another convincing win versus Biosì Indexa Sora in 1st Round of Unipolsai Superleague. Despite this different moods, Trento is still the favourite of this challenge, in the only one game between these two teams in Italian Cup, Trento won 3-0, in last season. In 9 games in Superleague, Diatec Trentino won 6 of 9 games played. Trento is favourite, despite the tough moment they are living.
FORMAT
According to Regular Season 2016/17, the teams from 12°to 14°place (Padova, Sora and Milano) together with rookie team BCC Castellana Grotte start from the 16th final. The winners will play together 5° ’til 11° place teams (Verona, Piacenza, Monza, Vibo Valentia, Ravenna and Latina) in the 8th final. The four winners will play versus the top four teams of last Superleague season, Civitanova, Trento, Perugia and Modena in the Quarterfinals which will take place next 18th october. The winners will advance to the Del Monte Italian Cup Final four next 27th and 28th october 2018.
