It was a good night for the italian teams in Champions League, both in Poland. Cucine Lube Civitanova won 3-1 at Atlas Arena in Lodz over PGE Skra Belchatow. It was a great win for Lube, who struggled a bit in the fundamental of serve in first two sets, then finding the right rhythm with a great performance by Tsvetan Sokolov, 27 points for the bulgarian hammer. Next wednesday 22nd march at 20.30 at Eurosuole Forum Lube will play Game 2, trying to win two sets to step to Playoff 6.
Was not an easy one the tie break win of Azimut Modena on Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, trailing on 1-1 and on 2-2, winning in the end the tie break, with an outstandings offensive performance by Earvin Ngapeth, 26 points for the frenchman. Next thursday at PalaPanini Modena will need a win to step to PlayOff 6, to face the winner of the series between Cucine Lube Civitanova and PGE Skra Belchatow.

2017 CEV Cup
LPR Piacenza wasn’t able to come back at PalaTrento after the 3-0 loss in Game 1 of Cev Cup quarterfinals versus Diatec Trentino, who won also on the home turf, this time 3-1. Angelo Lorenzetti’s team is still undefeated in this season on the home turf, and also last night the former Italian champs had a great performance by all the team. With this win in Game 2 of Cev Cup Quarterfinals, Trento clinched the access to Cev Cup semifinals, where they will face Fenerbahce Istanbul. This is the third time in a row that Trento is between the top four teams in an European competition, as they did in 2015 in Cev Cup, in 2016 in Champions League, and in 2017 once again in Cev Cup.
Angelo Lorenzetti’s team sealed the accesso to semifinals by winning first two sets 25-20 and 25-22, then losing the third 25-22 and easily winning fourth 25-15.
