2017 Champions League

All the italian teams progressed to Champions League PlayOff 12, all in first place in their Pools. On tomorrow friday 3rd march at 11 in Cev Offices in Luxemburg. Sir Sicoma Colussi Perugia will not be in PlayOffs 12 teams, because they will be the hosting team of 2017 Champions League Final Four which will taek place in Roma next 29th 30th april at PalaLottomatica.

Mission accomplished for Cucine Lube Civitanova, who defeated 3-0 Berlin Recycling Volleys, with an outstandings performance in front of 3000 crazy fans at Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova. With this great and clear win Lube clinched first place in Pool B, in the better place possible fot PlayOffs 12.

Azimut Modena lost their first game in Europe, a tie break loss in Ljubljana. No problems for this loss, the first place in Pool D was already clinched by Coach Tubertin’s team, coach who had the chance to put on court players from the bench, tasting the shape of brand new player Dragan Travica, who played two sets in place of Santiago Orduna, playing a good game, showing good physical shape.

Sir Sicoma Colussi Perugia played their last Champions League game before the Final Four, and it was a good 3-1 win at PalaEvangelisti versus Turkish Halkbank Ankara coached by former Perugia’s coach Boban Kovac, confirming their leadership in Pool E. It was a win with authority, useful for next games in Unipolsai Superleague playoffs, looking forward to Champions League Final Four in Roma.

2017 CEV Cup

LPR Piacenza collapsoed at home versus Trentino Diatec in Cev Cup quarterfinals Game 1, losing clearly 3-0. In little more than one hour, Angelo Lorenzetti’s team took home this important win with a great performances by Stokr and Urnaut, and with a good game down the net and in defence. Game 2 of the quarterfinals will take place at PalaTrento next wednesday 15th march at 20.30, with Trento who will need only to win one set to clinch a semifinals spot. Will be difficult for Piacenza to come back, but they must try to force Game 2 to Golden Set.
