Saturday night’s big game was lightning quick with Trentino celebrating victory in straight sets. The incredible unbeaten home run in the league goes on for Trento. Perugia, who came straight down from Germany, where it had a European commitment, had to surrender in less than an hour and a half. The Italian Champions were as fast and effective as in their Champions League mid-week triumph over the Greeks of PAOK Thessaloniki. Djuric finished top scorer once again with 15 points (48%), Colaci was outstanding in dig and reception, while Urnaut was just superb. The Slovenian did just about everything right and deservedly received the MVP award.

Tine Urnaut (Diatec Trentino): “We had a good game but in this superb atmosphere it’s always easier to have good performances. I’m glad we did it, we really wanted this win against a big rival to be up there in the league table. We managed to put them under pressure from the get-go and we played our best volleyball”.

Emanuele Birarelli (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “Congratulations to Trento, they had a great game, they put us under pressure with their blocking, dig and they rarely gave anything away. We struggled to keep up with them. Coming back to the PalaTrento arena as an opponent was a very special emotion. I want to thank everyone for the special welcoming”.
