Del Monte® Super Cup presentation

The Modena town hall opened its doors this morning to launch the 20th edition of the Del Monte Super Cup, which will take place on Saturday 24 October at 8.30pm at the PalaPanini arena between the Italian champions of Trentino and Modena, winners of the Del Monte Italian Cup.

Town Mayor Gian Carlo Muzzarelli pointed out that “in the year of the Expo, Modena had the opportunity to highlight some of its excellence and sport is one of its greatest. It became a fundamental element in the promotion of our city nationally and internationally”.

“Why Modena?” The Italian League CEO Massimo Righi explained that choice: “Without being presumptuous, we want to show an example of sport civilization with facts. Sport is social education, and I think that, after the splendid playoff finals in May, playing the Super Cup in the city of the team that played against Trento for the title is a perfect fit. The peace of mind with which the Trento players received their medals and trophy in front of the kop and without any police was just unbelievable. We don’t often think about it but when you take a minute to compare with other sports, you realise we come from Mars. The players, fans and managers are just superb in this sport”.

As for the Trentino GM, he said “Not many things in life are as satisfying as playing in the PalaPanini arena”. And many buses will make their way from Trento to Modena as already over 4000 tickets have been sold. So the hunt for the last tickets is on with Vivaticket.com. Prices range from 10 to 100 Euros.
