Sponsor on the bench
The Italian Volleyball League has decided to reward the sponsors: each club will be allowed to keep a place right in the middle of the action on the team bench for a special guest.
It’s the dream of any volleyball fan, to be able to live a SuperLega or Serie A2 UnipolSai game right on the court side together with the team. This special place will be reserved for a sponsor or a Vip guest chosen by the home team.
The guest will have to be registered as a member of the club staff as he will be subject to the referee’s decisions in case of indiscipline (in this case, excess of passion). On the other hand, it will be forbidden to bring a third coach instead of the special guest.
This will not be the only novelty regarding the season to kick off on October 25. Indeed, the League will adopt new nets with smaller squares, which will enable sponsorship on the whole surface.
Besides, in order to increase the visibility and make it an even more spectacular show, two clubs will experimentally be able to choose to play both their league games with a 10-minute break between the second and third set, exploiting the time for promotion and activities.
Finally, the Board of Directors have approved a new formula for the Del Monte Super Cup from 2016: the best four teams according to their qualifying rights in European Cups will play for the trophy.
