Gazzetta trophy 2014/2015


 


Perugia star Aleksandar Atanasijevic won the Gazzatta trophy for the second consecutive season. Not only did he win the acknowledgement of the famous pink sport daily paper but he also finished top scorer with 516 points.


 


The award was thought out in 1973 by Carlo Gobbi, dean of journalism in Italian volleyball. Every week the Gazzetta gives points to the players and at the end of the regular season the player with the most points wins the Gazzetta trophy. The Serbian outside hitter collected 104 points and finished ahead of Filippo Lanza from Trento.


Kaziyski (81), Bruno (78), Petric and Cebulj (72), Starovic (69), Nemec (66), Ngapeth and Sander (64), Urnaut (63), Fromm (62) are the ones who follow in the top ten.


 


The award will be handed to Atanasijevic from the Perugia President, Gino Sirci, before the playoffs quarter-final game 1 scheduled on Saturday at 5.45 in Perugia.
