Verona added to its winning streak with another three-point victory at the expense of Piacenza. In front of 3300 fans, the Verona stars performed brilliantly in attack with 60%. Gasparini and Deroo had 20 each while Sander added 17. But Coscione was named MVP as he guided his spikers to perfection.
Tijs Ter Horst (Copra Piacenza): “We’re struggling, we can’t seem to be able to play like we should. When we trail on the scoreboard, we never seem to come back. We fell behind in just about every area tonight. Verona played very well and they juggled to perfection with their spikers”.

Perugia’s fighting spirit eventually had the best of Latina. The Block Devils were in crisis at 2-1 down, but Grbic’s moves (in Barone and Sunder) and a terrific Atanasijevic turned things around. The MVP of the game scored an incredible 38 points (52% and 3 aces), he just took over from the fourth set and brought two points to his team. In the tie-break, Perugia was 13-11 before Latina scored three consecutive points to gain match point (13-14). But then Perugia scored three of their own through De Cecco, Atanasijevic and Barone (16-14).
Gabriele Maruotti (Sir Safety Perugia): “We kept believing. Congratulations to Atanasijevic and his 38 points, but also to the others because they all played with heart tonight. We’re happy with this difficult victory”.
