Cup Final Four presentation
The Del Monte Italian Cup final four presentation took place this morning in Bologna. The city will host the event for the second year running on January 10-11 in the Paladozza arena.
“We are proud to offer such an important event in Bologna following last year’s great success – said Sport councilor Luca Rizzo Nervo – We know the people from Bologna and not only will come in numbers to assist this top quality event”.
Meanwhile this will be the first Italian cup for Albino Massaccesi as Italian Volleyball League president: “The great volleyball tradition of this city continues with this cup, and hopefully this will help Bologna to soon be represented by a top level team. Let’s not forget that the central geographical position of the city makes it easier for all the clubs and the fans to come and see the two-day event, and this is also an opportunity to visit what is a beautiful city”.
Two technological novelties: “There will be an evolution of the Video Check. For the first time it will show the replay of the ball touched at the net. Then, the second technology we’ll be using are the tablets, which will be available for the coaches. Through a Bluetooth connection and an application created by Data Project, they will be able to call timeout, substitutions, ask to see the Video Check and control their line-up by communicating directly with the electronic board supplied to the referees”.
Finally, the “Giacomo Sintini” association will be present once again as it gathers funds for medical research in the onco-hematology field. It will be possible to purchase the Giacomo Sintini book “Strength and Courage” as well as numerous gadgets from the association.
