Second tie-break in two weeks for Piacenza in its first road game in the Champions League. Just like against Costanta, everything seemed to be going the right way for Zlatanov and co but at one point something went wrong and the opponents took over and clinched victory. All the stats were very tight: 50% in attack for Piacenza vs 52%, 64-63% in reception, though the Italians had more aces (8-4) and blocks (11-7).

In the tie-break, Piacenza was 8-7 up but a Le Roux missed spike sent Roeselare back in front. An ace made it 12-10 for the hosts. Kohut scored to get within one after Le Roux hit it in the net (13-12) but Roeselare finished it off from there.

Andrea Radici (coach Copra Piacenza): “We are disappointed, the boys have been courageous, they stayed in the game right until the last play. Once again we finish on the losing end, shame because this was a positive performance, be that in many fundamentals and in terms of mentality”.
