In the 16° of finals return leg, Cuneo dominated the French side of Nantes 3-0. The first set was undecided until 15-14 when Cuneo pulled away, the main difference being the percentages in attack (61 vs 38). In came Alletti and Kohut in the second and just like in the first, the Italians found the answers when it mattered most, at 20-20. At this point, Piazza’s team was already qualified. Andrea Marchisio made its debut at the end of the third set.
Cuneo will now meet the winner of Zwole (Netherland) versus TV Ingersoll Bühl (Germany). The return game will be played tomorrow night.
