69th Serie A championship
Tomorrow, Tuesday October 15 at 3.30pm, the CONI’s Hall of Fame will open its doors to celebrate the start of the league season 2013-14.
The ceremony organised by the Italian Volleyball League in collaboration with the FIPAV will launch the season following the overwhelming success of the Del Monte Super Cup played Wednesday in Trento and won by Trento.
The event will be presented by Jacopo Volpi, Rai Sport’s vice director. This will be an opportunity to celebrate as well the silver medal obtained by the Italian national team in the European Championships in Denmark led by coach Berruto, as well as the Bronze medal taken by Italy juniors, coached by Bonitta.
During the event, which will gather many important figures around the President of the Volleyball League Diego Mosna, there will be time to hand the individual awards regarding the 2012-13 season.
World Club Championships 2013
Trentino Diatec begins tomorrow
Trento will chase its fifth World Club Championships title from tomorrow as it faces the Betim team in Brazil, just a week after its triumph in the Italian Super Cup. The holders have been drawn in the group with the Japan side of Panasonic Panthers, Kalleh from Iran (tomorrow’s opponent) and the Argentines of UPCN. The other group is composed of Sada Cruzeiro (Brazil), Novosibirsk (Russia), La Romana (Dominican Republic), and Sportif Sfaxien (Tunisia).
All the Trento games will be live on Sportitalia 2, which will also broadcast the semi-finals, while the final will be on Sportitalia 1.
