Serie A2 Sustenium Playoff final

Castellana Grotte celebrated promotion thanks to its 3-1 home win over Molfetta in the final game 3 (3-0 in the series). Before this derby in the final, Castellana had knocked out Loreto in the quarters and Segrate in the semi-finals.

Goran Maric: “This was a promise, and although it’s been very difficult, we kept that promise. I expected it to be easier, but maybe it was even more satisfying to get the result this way”.

Alberto Elia: “We did it, I think we deserved everything we achieved this season, Italian cup included. Let’s enjoy the moment now with those fantastic supporters”.

Fosco Cicola: “I am speechless, I have been promoted in the past but this one is really incredible. We spent the whole season chasing, but we kept at it without ever giving up. We can be proud today to have beaten everyone, to have won the cup and earned promotion in the A1”.

Marco Falaschi: “We deservedly made it back into the Serie A1 just a year on. Vermiglio dedicated his Champions League triumph to the ones who hated him and I feel like taking his phrase and dedicate this to the one who hate us. We went through a lot this season but fortunately this triumph made it really worth it”.
