2012 Champions League – Playoffs 6

One of the most exciting encounter of the season is just around the corner. Indeed, Trento and Macerata will fight for a place in the Champions League Final Four. The two teams will meet for the third times in two weeks. Trento won the Italian Cup final, while Macerata won the first leg in Europe on a superb come-back from 2-0 down. Stoytchev’s team has no choice but win the game to obtain the right to play for the Golden Set and the qualification.

Emanuele Birarelli (Trentino PlanetWin365): “Macerata and Trento are two very similar teams in terms of quality. This means we’ll need a little something extra to get the result. The technique and tactic will not be enough, we’ll need heart and the kind of atmosphere that really gives you the advantage to play home. The latest is a factor that will make it a totally different game compared to the others played this season”.

Igor Omrcen (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “This is a vital game for both teams, another final after the one of the Italian Cup. The fact we won the first leg does not give us any advantage at all other than confidence. Trento remains the stronger team, but we realised we could play face to face with them and even beat them. This will be another battle on Thursday, the chances of qualification are 50/50. And like always, the serve will be crucial”.
