They were 3324 to applaude Verona despite the final 3.1 in favour of the guests, Piacenza. MVP, Papi.

Hristo Zlatanov (Copra Elior Piacenza):We’ve been saying it for a while, our minds are working much better now. Unfortunately, we have been unlucky at the beginning of the season while everything seems to be going into place right now. We found a good rhythm and there is enthusiasm. We have to build on this victory, this is the way to go”.

Stefano Patriarca (Marmi Lanza Verona): “There have been two parts, at times we managed to impose our game but our approach to the game needs to be better. We lacked the killing touch in the third set, it could have changed the game. Piacenza is really playing well, they deserved to win, unfortunately we did not manage to contain them in the fourth set. That will serve as a motivation to work and improve. We want to get the points to make sure we stay up as soon as possible”.

TONNO CALLIPO VIBO VALENTIA – FIDIA PADOVA 3-1 (20-25, 27-25, 25-23, 27-25)

Thrilling encounter followed by a good crowd that pushed Vibo in the crucial moments of the game. There were special welcoming for Padova’s Simeonov, Gonzalez and Suljagic, who are all former Vibo players.

Nikolay Nikolov (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “I am extremely satisfied with the way things went for me as well as for the team. This is a very important victory, all the more important given the way we obtained it. When you start off so badly like in the first set, it’s always very difficult to get back on track with a good attitude. But we did it and won it”.

Francesco De Marchi (Fidia Padova): “We had prepared the game very well, we knew we’d have faced a heated atmosphere and we played good volleyball in the first two sets. But on the other side of the net, they put their foot on the pedal, Cernic, Diaz, the middle blockers and the outside hitter stepped up and we struggled to keep up the pace. Good game, tight at the end of the fourth, but the better team won”.

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO – ENERGY RESOURCES SAN GIUSTINO 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18)

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Mastrangelo 10, Henno (L), Ngapeth 18, Fortunato 7, Wijsmans 17, Vissotto Neves 23, Grbic 2, Caceres, Pieri (L). DNP Vesely, Patriarca, Rossi, Baranowicz. Coach. Placì.

After a long break due to the postponed game against Ravenna and the Cup, Cuneo had the better of San Giustino and consolidated its third place in the table, one point behind Macerata. MVP: Earvin Ngapeth.

Jan Held Henk (coach Energy Resources San Giustino): “We could have done better against a Cuneo team that was far from unstoppable. Shame, a couple of moments have ruined our chances, we really could have done with some points. I think we should not let those kind of opportunities slip away”.

Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “At the end of the day, the result is what matters. The thing I didn’t like is that at times, especially in the second and third set, we did not play with maximum intensity, we just waited for them to make the mistakes. Then, when we woke up, we played good volleyball. I wish we could play from the start and keep up a good level, without waiting to be 1-0 down”.

ANDREOLI LATINA – M. ROMA VOLLEY 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 26-28, 27-25)

ANDREOLI LATINA: Rivera Caamano 14, Gitto 9, Sottile 3, Jarosz 22, De Pandis (L), Troy, Galabinov, Cester 10, Fragkos 17. Non entrati Guemart, Tailli, Diachkov. Coach. Prandi.

Latina took all three points at the expense of Roma in a derby. They leapfrog their neighbors in the league table and extend their lead on direct rivals. MVP: Jarosz

Daniele Sottile (Andreoli Latina): “This is an important victory for the league table. We moved over our direct rivals and above all we won the derby. We have to play all the remaining games with the same intensity because our league position will be important for the playoffs”.

Novica Bjelica (M. Roma Volley): “Latina deserved to win. It’s great to play in this gym with so many familiar faces. We had a blackout in the game and just couldn’t get back in it”.

CASA MODENA – LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 23-25)

CASA MODENA: Manià (L), Sala 4, Dennis 22, Kooy, Bellei, Yosifov, Esko 3, Martino 8, Anderson 12, Piscopo 3. DNP Catellani, Carletti, Casoli. Coach. Bagnoli.

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Lampariello, Pajenk 7, Exiga (L), Parodi 9, Kovar 13, Monopoli, Van Walle 1, Travica 2, Omrcen 13, Podrascanin 9. DNP Savani, Stankovic. Coach. Giuliani.

Macerata inflicted a sweep to Modena in its own gym although it’s been mostly a hard-fought and spectacular encounter played in front of 4220 fans.

Daniele Bagnoli (coach Casa Modena): “I am really sorry about this yellow card. We played better than Rome, there are clear signs of improvement but we have to keep going this way. Against these kind of teams, you need great consistency and we wasted too many opportunities”.

Alberto Giuliani (coach Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “I’d say everything was positive. We played a good game and even managed to make everybody play. I am satisfied with the performance of the boys and with the points taken. Now we’ll focus on the Champions League”.

The Ravenna fans packed the gym against the best team of the league Trento, which rested a couple of players given the Champions League return leg against Macerata. Still, the champions won in straight sets despite a good start in the first set from the hosts.

Antonio Babini (coach CMC Ravenna): “The fact there is a big difference between the two teams is certainly not something we’ve discovered today. We tried to hit the serve harder but we rarely caused Trento any problems”.

Radostin Stoytchev (coach Itas Diatec Trentino): “This was a useful game to give some court time to players who had recently played less. But this game did not serve as a preparation for the European Cup against Macerata”.
