A press conference took place this morning to present the All Star Game – Marcello Gabana Memorial, which will take place in Monza on Friday November 11 at 8.30pm. This event will put face to face the Italian national team coached by Mauro Berruto and a selection All Star of the best foreigners of the Seriei A, which will be guided by Trentino’s coach Radostin Stoytchev and Monza’s coach Emanuele Zanini.
“A unique and great event which will promote volleyball in the region” said the President of the Monza Province Dario Allevi.
“The All Star Game is an important occasion to get the fans to appreciate the sport and to wish good luck to the National Team which is about to go to the World Cup in Japan” said Diego Mosna, president of the Italian Volleyball League. “I was and I am a friend of Marcello Gabana – he added – This is a great pleasure to be able to give his name to this important event”.
Then it was time for Marcello Gabana’s Daughter to speak: “When my father passed away and I took over as President, I promised myself I would have organised a great event in his memory. This is what happens today, two years after he went, because this gave me the time to get back on my feet and deal with the pain. I think the All Star game is the best event possible to honour his memory”.
