2012 CEV Champions League

Winning start for Trentino and Macerata

TRENTINO PLANETWIN365 – CAI TERUEL 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-14)

TRENTINO PLANETWIN365: Kaziyski 8, Della 5, Juantorena 7, Zygadlo 4, Brinkman 1, Tzourits 4, Colaci (L), Stokr 18, Bari L, Burgsthaler 3. DNP Birarelli, Vieira De Oliveira. Coach. Stoytchev.

No worries for Trentino in its Champions League debut: a quick straight set victory over the Spaniards of Teruel. There was just too much separating the two teams despite the tiredness affecting the Italians following the World Club Championships and league games. This was also an opportunity for coach Stoytchev to make changes and give court time to the subs.

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – LOKOMOTIV NOVOSIBIRSK 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22)

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA: Pajenk 1, Savani 4, Exiga (L), Parodi 11, Stankovic 12, Kovar 10, Travica 3, Omrcen 23, Podrascanin 6. DNP De Moraes Lampariello, Monopoli, Van. Coach. Giuliani.

Positive return to the Champions League for Macerata which defeated the Russians of Novosibirsk 3-1 on home soil. Giuliani’s boys were surprised in the first set but reacted well thanks to excellent performances from Omrcen, Stankovic and Kovar.
