In Roma’s splendid Palalottomatica arena, Trentino won the second Italian championship of its history after the one won in 2007-08. Radostin Stoytchev’s swept Cuneo 3-0 thanks to great focus and aggressiveness. Cuneo had no answers. Trentino will boast the tricolour court next season for the first time as it did not exist yet when it won its first title. The MVP of the game is Jan Stokr, who scored 21 points with 69% in attack, two blocks and one ace, in a game that only lasted 1’12.

Emanuele Birarelli (Itas Diatec Trentino): “We have been given more plays than usual, maybe they did not expect such a consistent play in the middle. I tell you the truth, I am extremely happy. This is a special victory: the League title, and against Cuneo. I had won it three years ago, but that memory was too far back”.
Raphael (Itas Diatec Trentino): “Tonight we have been the best, in the past I had to congratulate Cuneo: after the Super Cup and the Italian Cup, but tonight we deserved the trophy. I want to dedicate this victory to my wife and my son”.
Dore Della Lunga (Itas Diatec Trentino): “This year, despite the two phenomenons I have ahead of me, I have had the chance to play, for various reasons: tactical, injuries, number of Italians on court… I am extremely satisfied. In my opinion, Trento is the best team in the world and had an unbelievable season, that cannot be matched, and we deserved the targets we reached, thanks to the quality of the people, the players and the staff”.
Alberto Giuliani (coach Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “I don’t even feel like analysing the game. In my opinion, we have got here a bit tired after the five games played against Macerata. Credit to Trento which played better and without problems. I think that’s the key. I don’t regret Parodi, but the Champions League: If I had known we’d have gone out at the Golden Set, I’d have preferred to go out in the first round, at least we’d have been more rested today”.
Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It’s difficult to give explanation to a game we haven’t played, so there are only congratulations to make to Trento. They played well, we’ll try again next season”.
Luigi Mastrangelo (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “In the third set, we have not reacted although it’s difficult to do it when you trail by so many points. We had to change attitude from the start and prevent them from making such a run with Sala on the serve. We haven’t shown our character tonight, maybe because they did not allow us to”.
Vladimir Nikolov (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We made too many mistakes, which we usually don’t make. At 22-8, the game was already over. Except for a spell in the second set, we have never been in the game”.
