In a packed PalaBreBanca arena, Cuneo had the better of Macerata 3-1 in the semi-final game 1.

Vladimir Nikolov MVP.

Luigi Mastrangelo (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We were looking for our rhythm in the first set, and we found ourselves one set down and forced to chase. Our serving helped us to turn things around. In the first set, we served poorly, but when we started to hit it fine, things got better and we found our rhythm”.

Mauro Berruto (allenatore Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “We got off to a brilliant start, then we lost our rhythm, making too many mistakes. We lost because of series of mistakes: they came at the wrong moments. The long quarter-final series has definitely got us tired, and against Cuneo, which is extremely strong even without Parodi, you always have to play at 100%. We have to be at our best for this series which is going to be long”.
