Lube Banca Marche Macerata – Sisley Treviso 2-3 (21-25, 17-25, 28-26, 26-24, 9-15)

Itas Diatec Trentino – RPA-LuigiBacchi.it San Giustino 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16)

Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo – Marmi Lanza Verona 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21)

ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO – RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT SAN GIUSTINO 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-16)

ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO: Kaziyski 20, Leonardi, Birarelli 5, Della Lunga, Juantorena 14, Zygadlo, Vieira De Oliveira 2, Sala 6, Sokolov 4, Colaci (L), Stokr 8, Bari (L). DNP Bratoev. Coach. Stoytchev.

RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT SAN GIUSTINO: Zhukouski 1, Van Den Dries, Schwarz 6, Dias 14, Giovi (L), Finazzi 3, Nikic 5, Braga, Maric 7, Cester 4, Steuerwald 1. DNP Bartoletti, Lo Bianco. Coach. Zanini.

Trentino had the better of San Giustino for the third time in seven days and qualified for its fifth league semi-final in six years. Kaziyiski was named MVP of the game (71% at the net) as Trentino was too strong at the end of sets. Trento will meet the winner of Monza versus Modena.

Andrea Sala (Itas Diatec Trentino): “San Giustino did not manage to resist from the start and for us things were easier compared to game 1 and 2. Our target was to play well and we did that, we especially put pressure with our serve and attack. Monza or Modena ? To be honest, it’s really difficult to tell which we will meet in the semis. Both are excellent teams that play good volleyball”.

Emanuele Zanini (coach RPA-LuigiBacchi.it San Giustino): “Once again, the powerful serving of Trento was key. In the second set, we made three mistakes in the end and we paid the price. That really discouraged us, for the successive set too. The physical difference between the two team is impressive and in this kind of game that matters a lot”.

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO – MARMI LANZA VERONA 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21)

BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO: Mastrangelo 5, Henno (L), Wijsmans 10, Grbic 4, Nikolov 14, Patriarca 9, Volkov 8. DNP Galic, Fortunato, Montagna, Carletti, Peda. Coach. Giuliani.

MARMI LANZA VERONA: Latelli, Pajenk 7, Brunner 3, Meoni, Lasko 16, Smerilli (L), Lotman 12, Zingel, Cala Gerardo 1, Herpe 8. DNP Kosmina, Sterzi. Coach. Bagnoli.

Cuneo sealed the series in 3 games and with a straight set victory in the last encounter against Verona. The defending champions will either meet Macerata or Treviso (Macerata leads 2-1). Before the game, Wijsmans received the “Gazzetta award” as he was elected MVP of the season by the prestigious Italian daily sport paper.

Alberto Giuliani (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It’s very important for us to have finished it off in Game 3. This will give us a bit of time to get reorganised after the injuries that hit us. That will also give time to Wijsmans to get back, because he’s still far from full fitness”.

Bruno Bagnoli (Marmi Lanza Verona): “When you don’t serve well, you can’t win. Despite a decent reception and a good attack, the serve was really too poor. We have not been incisive at all and made too many mistakes. Against a team of that level, it’s already hard when you do everything perfectly, so when you start faltering…”.
