2011 CEV Champions League: playoffs 6 results
Cuneo in need of a big one in Moscow
Tough start for Cuneo in the Champions League playoffs 6. The great support of the home fans was not enough to beat Dinamo Moscow. The Italians got off to a good start, taking the first set thanks to some brilliant serving but could not hinder the Russian’s attack in the remaining of the game. Cuneo now has the difficult task to turn things around in Moscow on March 10. Not only does they need the win, but If they do it, they will then need to conquer the Golden Set to go through to the Final Four.
Trentino is already qualified as organizer of the event, while Kazan won in Poland against Belchatow yesterday. If both Russian teams were to go through, they would have to face each other in the semi-final in accordance with the Cev regulations. That would mean that the winner of Wegiet (Pol) and Maaseik (Bel) would meet the World Champs.
