Four out of five Italian teams involved in the European Cups came out winners. In the champions League, Cuneo and Trento severely beat 3-0 Maaseik and Zalau respectively. Thanks to these wins, Giuliani’s team goes top of its group while Stoytchev’s men move up to second behind Belchatow. On the other hand, Treviso was defeated in France by Tours at the tie-break despite the 40 points of Fei. Papi and co are bottom of its group with 3 points. However, they stand just one point behind Tours and Fenerbahce, four from Belgorod.
In the Cev Cup 8th of final first leg, Modena took all three points in front of its fans despite a slow start. It defeated the Swiss team of Amrsivil 3-1. Same result in the Challenge Cup for Macerata, which won in Lamia, Greece, in the 16th of finals first leg.
