The Pala Trento remains inaccessible for whoever that is. The latest victim is Latina, swept by the World Champions. Czech Jan Stokr collected his second MVP award.

Jan Stokr (Itas Diatec Trentino): “I am extremely satisfied with the win and my personal performance, especially with my serves. Raphael kept giving me great assists and I just did my job. Three important points gained in only three sets. This will allow us to have more energy for the Champions League game in Romania”.

Giampaolo Medei (allenatore Andreoli Latina): “As expected the Pala Trento proved to be a tough place to go, we knew it was going to be hard. We’ve never been able to play as we wanted. We struggled too much on the serve and at the net”.

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA – MARMI LANZA VERONA 3-1 (23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17) –

ACQUA PARADISO MONZA BRIANZA: Rauwerdink 4, Krumins, Zito (L), Forni 7, Molteni 8, Buti 4, Rooney 24, Travica 6, Gavotto 15, Shumov 6, Exiga (L). DNP Cetrullo, Pesenti. Coach. Monti.

MARMI LANZA VERONA: Pajenk 16, Kosmina, Latelli (L), Brunner 7, Meoni, Lasko 12, Lotman 10, Zingel 2, Cala Gerardo 7, Bolla 1, Herpe 5. DNP Cerpelloni. Coach. Bagnoli.

Monza grabbed its first home win of the season at the expense of Verona. The hosts built its victory around an excellent work at the net and a great performance from Rooney (24 points and 54% in attack).

Marco Molteni (Acqua Paradiso Monza Brianza): “This game should represent the emblem of our season. We have to play with this intensity and fighting spirit. We can’t afford to get on court with a superficial attitude. I think we did well in the difficult moments. I want to congratulate Rooney, who really played a great game”.

Marco Meoni (Marmi Lanza Verona): “The game became really difficult for us in the second set. We started to make a lot of mistakes and Monza took over. They played good volleyball, with consistency, while we haven’t converted the few opportunities that came our way. They certainly deserved to win”.

SISLEY TREVISO – RPA-LUIGIBACCHI.IT SAN GIUSTINO 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-16) –

Treviso is back to winning ways in its Palaverde. It stopped San Giustino’s winning streak that had been lasting for five games.

Roberto Piazza (allenatore Sisley Treviso): “It was important to put this negative moment behind us with a win. The first set was decisive as we came back from 15-10 down. We showed character, fighting spirit and composure when needed further ahead in the encounter. That’s what we needed, we added three points to our tally, and that will help us prepare better the next games”.

Emanuele Zanini (allenatore RPA-LuigiBacchi.it San Giustino): “It was not easy to take points here. The Treviso seen tonight was definitely different from the one that played in Verona on Wednesday. Our targets are clearly others than Treviso’s. We have to consolidate our game. We lost the game on the reception, which was too much below our usual standard considering that it is one of our main strengths”.

Lebl was back for Roma but Giani still had to do without Corsano in Cuneo. The Italian Champions needed just over an hour to seal it.

Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “We did not expect such an easy game, but credit to us for making it that easy. We were extremely motivated, we expected a tough encounter and immediately began with the right spirit. We did extremely well in reception and in the dig-block combination too. The rest came naturally. We are getting better little by little and we are getting back to a good physical fitness. We are on the right track mentally too”.

Alberto Cisolla (M.Roma Volley): “It’s true that we were up against the Italian champs but we didn’t think we’d surrender that easily. Shame we made that many mistakes. Just like against Trento, we lost by making too many mistakes and this is not acceptable. We should be playing without fear, especially against teams like Cuneo”.

Silvano Prandi (coach Casa Modena): “It’s been a thrilling game against a great team. Hopefully, this will be something we’ll build on. Diaz is a very important player for us, and I am happy with Creus’ performance too. Berezhko did an excellent job when he came on, he had a couple of decisive plays in clutch moments”.

Mauro Berruto (coach Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “I would have liked to see the Macerata of the first set in the successive ones. We are looking for consistency. Modena improved as the game wore on and Diaz is a player I like a lot, he always has great performances against me. Still, we could have handled better the play at times in the second and fourth set”.

COPRA MORPHO PIACENZA – BCC-NEP CASTELLANA GROTTE 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 27-25) –

Piacenza bounced back against Castellana Grotte after its midweek loss in San Giustino. Thanks to these three points it moves up to fourth. MVP Gonzalez.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Copra Morpho Piacenza): “This week we took 7 points in 3 games, this is very positive. Today we found it hard against Castellana Grotte but I have to praise Zlatanov and Popp, they did a great job, in the most difficult moments too”.

Radames Lattari (coach BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte): “I think we played a tight game, like in the fourth set. In my opinion, at the end of the first and fourth set, some mistakes from the refs altered the results. My players had a good attitude, they played face to face with a great team and fought hard right until the end. Shame we did not get a point, that would have been great. We have a week to work, to improve and get ready for the game against Cuneo. We are no favourites but we have to do everything we can to get as much as we can out of it. The injuries are certainly not helping us, Cozzi still has to recover from his adductor injury, and Rodriguez was close to suffer an ankle injury today but he should be fine. As for the outside hitter, this is a situation I have to evaluate week after week according to the performances in games and training of the two. The one that deserves it will be on court”.
