European Cups

Cuneo and Perugia starring in Europe

Cuneo and Perugia shined and made it to Europe heavens.

Thanks to its 3-1 win over the Russians of Odintsovo, Cuneo gathered its third Cev Cup triumph, eight years after the latest.

Four of its players have received individual awards in Maaseik: MVP to Wijsmans, Henno as best Libero, Wijsmans as best server, and Grbic named best setter.

The other individual awards are: Best blocker to Van de Voorde (Maaseik), best receiver to Derkoningen (Maaseik), Best scorer and best spiker Schops (Odintsovo)

History was made yesterday in Perugia: the hosts of the Challenge Cup Final Four, swept the Croatians of Zagreb and won its first ever European trophy, and this, in front of its fans. No less than five individual awards went to Perugia players: MVP for Pippi, best setter to Sintini, best blocker to Hubner, best receiver to Cernic and best server to Savani. The other awards are: best libero to Krystof (Berlin), best scorer to Hidalgo Oliva, best spiker to Mihlj (Zagreb).
