Difficult to find the key to a game that has been marked by a huge number of mistakes. Taranto went 2-0 up but was pegged back to 2-2. In the end, the team that made less mistakes won it: Taranto (25-32). Brasilian spiker Cleber founght like a lion in the fifth and also with the composure he had lacked until then. He scored 5 points in the tie-break, amongst which the last three of the home side. This was the third longest game in the A1 since the Rally System Point was introduced. Behind, there is Piacenza versus Macerata, game 2 of the playoff 2009 (2’27) and Roma vs Taranto in 2006 (2’26). The record goes to Massa versus Bassano played this season in the A2 with 2’30.

Antonio Bongiovanni (Presidente Prisma Taranto: “I’m not happy at all with this win. We failed to seal it at 3-0. I would like to assist to a clear victory from my team and see good volleyball but this year it seems like I just have to make do with all this suffering”.

Fosco Cicola (Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia): “It was a very tight game with a lot of turning points. When we thought we’d won the set, Taranto did, and vice versa. Once the home team took a three point lead in the tie-break it played with less pressure, even if we managed to tie it at 12. In the end, the team that made less mistakes won it”.
