One last game from Round 9, initially postponed because of Trentino’s participation in the Club World Championship, will be played this Thursday. It’s Trentino versus Modena. The hosts will see its fans for the first time as World Champions, title they obtained in Doha, Qatar, last week. Modena is second, just two points away from the leaders, their opponent of the night.

Round 9

Thursday 12 November at 8.30pm

Itas Diatec Trentino – Trenkwalder Modena

(Barbero – Santi)

PAST ENCOUNTERS: 28 (16-12 Trento)

Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “We are tired as we spent a lot of energy in our beautiful experience in Qatar but we absolutely don’t want to interrupt our winning streak in the league. We are facing a very tough game, Modena started off well and it keeps getting better. Prandi knows me as well as Sokolov so they’ll have quite a bit of information to give to the team on our way of playing. And Piscopo will have information of his own too. That’s why we’ll have to be extremely careful and get on court without thinking of the things that happened until last Sunday”.

Loris Manià (Trenkwalder Modena): “In Piacenza, we obtained a crucial result, not only for the league position but for the confidence of the group. Another favourite for the title is ahead of us in Trento. This is an extremely strong team, they have just won the Club World Championship and they will be full of confidence. We are playing well against the top teams, we’ll have to keep going this way: playing with a winning mentality, and fighting on every ball. I am convinced our team can make it hard for anyone: even a top-class team like Trento”.
