The court advantage was key in this first game fo the quarter final playoffs. Led by Mattioli and Lukianetz’s serves, Santa Croce had the better of Rome, who gave up on Osvaldo Hernandez very soon. Rome’s coach tried to insert Segnalini and Oro, but Santa Croce made the best of the mistakes made by the team from the capital.

It was all too easy for Gioia del Colle, who escaped after two tight sets against Isernia. Trailed one set to nil against Mantova, Bassano fought back to take the next three sets and the game. It was 3-1 too for Latina against Crema.
