Mission accomplished for Loreto who finally completed its comeback on Santa Croce at the top of the league, just in time to go straight up in the A1. Indeed, while Santa Croce rested, Loreto needed a three-point win and they swept Catania and, despite being tied on points, they go top thanks to their number of victories. Loreto had gone very close in 2000-01 when it was beaten in the playoff final by Latina but today the dream came true. Loreto remained the only unbeaten team at home as the fans celebrated. Great celebration in Bologna too, as it beat Gioia del colle 3-1 to stay up in the A2. Cavriago was all smile as well. It stays up thanks to a 3-0 win over Castellana Grotte, which means Catania is relegated.
Crema won at the tie-break against Latina, just like Città di Castello over Roma. Isernia buried Castelfidardo 3-0, and Bassano did the same to Mantova, obtaining a historic third place.
The second team to go up will come out of the playoffs, which will start in the 15th of April. The second to the ninth are qualified, and every series will be played on the best of three games. The best classified team at the end of the regular season will host game 1 and 3.
