SERIE A1 TIM
A win for the playoffs
In the last round of the regular season, Treviso meets Cuneo in a game that has been forwarded to Wednesday night because of Cuneo’s European commitment. This will be Papi and co’s last chance to make it to the playoffs. If they win, they will secure a place amongst the first eight, at the expense of Verona. Treviso currently stands with 35 points while Verona has 34. If the two teams were to be tied, Treviso would qualify thanks to a better set quotient. If they were not to make it, this would be the first time it does not take part in the playoffs since it arrived in the elite (1988-89). Cuneo still has a chance to go top of the league again, a top spot that has been occupied by Macerata in the last two weeks. The rest of the games will be played on Sunday at 6pm.

PAst encounter: 69 (46 successi Treviso, 23 Cuneo)
First leg: Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo – Sisley Treviso 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 28-26)
Samuele Papi (Sisley Treviso): “This is the game of our life. Cuneo is clear favourite because we haven’t been winning for quite a while. We’ll give our best to win this one. We know Cuneo is a very strong team. It will come here extremely motivated. Hopefully the crowd will support us because we’ll give everything we have left to clinch it. The important thing is not to look behind us and focus on Wednesday night. Whatever happened until yesterday does not matter anymore. The only thing that matters is the Cuneo game”.
Peter Platenik (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It will be a tough game because they will try to retain their 8th place to take part in the playoffs. I’m on my way back, I’ve trained on court this week to increase my power in attack”.
