Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo earned the third pass for the semi finals of the A1 Cup thanks to a 3-1 victory over Verona. Cuneo will challenge Treviso in the semis.
Javier Gonzalez (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “It’s always special to play in front of our supporters. We’re physically in good shape and we’re playing extremely well. We started off a bit tense in the first set and we paid the price as Verona is a team that plays good volleyball and can make it tough for you. Then, our preparation to this game proved crucial. We knew exactly what we were supposed to do”.
Maurizio Latelli (Marmi Lanza Verona): “This reflects our league form. We got off to a good start, but when they started to play their game, we did not manage to resist. We never forced our serve and we never got close to them again. We did not manage to stay in the game and contest the outcome”.
