The game between Gioia del Colle andRome was a hard fought one, played at the highest level. Gioia came out winners and will play in the final on Sunday during the Champion Volley Land in Forli. Trailed 2-0, it managed to come back from the dead and dictate the play. Roma fought hard but Gioia had an edge, a little extra, they showed great character. De Giorgi won its duel against Tofoli but Nuzzo (53% and 17 points in attack) and De Andrade worked hard to lead their team to victory.
Paolo Tofoli (M. Roma Volley): “We could have won it and at 2-0 up, we believed in our chances, then all our flaws came back haunting us. We made mistakes in key moments, and struggled to smash the ball down”.
Gianluca Nuzzo (Nava Gioia del Colle): “We’re used to playing the tie-break an today we showed that the bench could give its contribution every time somebody comes on. We kept a good rhythm of play. Next Sunday we’ll play Latina 7 days after our last encounter. We were hoping to play them again, the defeat had really been frustrating”.
