TIM CUP A2

The semi finalists

Two games went to the golden set

There was pure adrenaline in the A2 Cup tonight. There is no better words to describe the action that went on in quarter finals that were full of emotions, with two out of the four encounters being settled at the Golden Set.

Bassano played three perfect sets and earned the extra se. But just when it mattered most, Roma regained its best level, going through thanks to a 15-7 win. Tofoli and co therefore knocked out the team that had finished top of the league at the halfway point of the championship.

Latina beat Isernia for the second time in a week and will therefore take part in the first Cup semi final of its history.

The second encounter between Santa Croce and Bologna was a carbon copy of the first with the Tuscan team forced once more to play the tie-break.

Finally Loreto won 3-1 but surrendered in a bitter Golden Set against Gioia del Colle, who will be in Mantova for the semis.
