In the first set Marmi Lanza Verona starts with Marlon setter, opposite Francesco Biribanti, middleblockers Rob Bontje and Daniel Howard, spikers Lorenzo Bernardi and Zbigniew Bartman, libero Giuseppe Sorcinelli. Not a good start for Lorenzetti’s boys that after fighting point to point 9-11, surrender to the powerful attacks of Miljovic and Dennis. So Lube Banca Marche goes ahead 17-9 first and 11-20 then. In the second set Marmi Lanza Verona reacts and goes ahead 8-5. Then the match becomes very tight and the score is always very close until the very end when Macerata is able to score the crucial and final break and colses the sets in its favour 23-25.
In the third set Marmi Lanza starts well especially with the help of Biribanti and with Bontje. But Macerata plays well and with constance with Rodrigao and Geric (16-19). Two consecutive aces of Dennis bring Macerata to 23 points while Marmi Lanza Verona stays at 18. Dennis and Miljovic spikes ends the set 19-25 and gives the victory to Macerata.
