RECORD NUMBER OF PRESENCES FOR THE SERIE A1 TIM PLAYOFFS
AND FOR THE SERIE A2 TIM REGULAR SEASON
The Serie A1 TIM, after registering 428.653 spectators in the Regular Season, confirms its greatness in the first two rounds of the title playoffs 2007/08.
The 14 matches played in the Quarterfinals and Semifinals has registered 44.191 presences. The average per match was 3.156 spectators which is an absolute record, with a 6.7% increase from last year.
With PalaTrento sold out for days, Match 1 of the final confirmed this positive trend. Itas Diatec Trentino and Copra NOrdmeccanica Piacenza attracted people from everywhere ready to partecipate making it into a big party of men’s volleyball, with 4.600 spectators in total.
The enthusiasm these two places are having for their teams promise great numbers for match 2 scheduled for sunday the 4th of may at 18.15 in Piacenza.
THE MOST WATCHED. Even though the playoffs are not over yet, the most attended match of the season is match 2 of the quarterfinals between Acqua Paradiso Montichiari and Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo, applauded by 5.909 people. The title in terms of presemses goes to Montichiari given Trento and Piacenza’s venues are smaller and do not allow for a take over.

If the audience confirms “the shape”of the Serie A1 TIM, the Sponsor Value survey carried out by StageUp and Ipsos for the Serie A Volleyball League makes the trend even more concrete.
The data presented these days confirm that the people interested in the Men’s Serie A1 TIM championship have increased by 6.2% between october 2007 adn january 2008, going over 7.9 millions, which is the highest number from 2005 to today.
Another significant results is the increasing market share over the total people interested in sport: in January 2008, the 25.3% of the people interested in sport has declared to have followed the Serie A1 TIm in the previous 6 months. Just like for the figure related to the number of people intereseted, this one grew by over 2 points, and it is the highest from 2005 to today.
