Belchatow-Kazan: the many ex’s of the Italian championship
Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza and Sisley Treviso the Italian in the Indesit Champions League’s Final Four, Italy being the only country with two teams in the semifinals. The two teams will play eachother andonly one of them will go through to the final towards the most prestigious title for a Club in Europe.
In the other semifinal, home team Pge Skra Belchatow will play Ruissia Dinamo Kazan, two teams with 7 players who took part in the Italian championship in the past.
The most numerous colony is in Belchatow, with 4 of them:
french spiker Stephane Antiga, 2003/04 in Cuneo, polish Piotr Gruzka from 1999 to 2003 in Padova, Cagliari and Trieste, finnish MB Janne Heikkinen in Torino, Ancona, Bolzano and Taranto, and evergreen Krzysztof Stelmach for 14 seasons in Italy with Cuneo, Reggio Emilia, Sant’Antioco, Padova and Falconara.
Three the “Italian ex’s” now playing for Dinamo Kazan. Russian Alexander Gerasimov, ex Perugia and Trieste, and Serguei Tetioukhine in Parma for two seaons. TO complete the list is ex setter from Modena Lloy Ball, Italian champion in 2002.
